In a lightweight bout, Haven Brady and Jesus Vasquez Jr., both successfully made weight ahead of their headline bout on OTX 9’s “Summa Bash 9” on Friday at the Overtime Elite Arena in Atlanta.
Brady (12-0, 5 KO), 22, from Albany, Georgia, will face Vasquez (11-2, 3 KOs), 33, of Englewood, Colorado, in an eight-round bout. Brady weighed in at exactly 130 pounds, while Vasquez Jr. tipped the scales at 133 pounds – three pounds heavier than Brady, but at the contracted weight of 133 pounds.
Brady, who previously signed with Top Rank, experienced weigh-in issues during his tenure with the promotion, which ended abruptly. Since leaving, he has been on a three-fight win streak and is a focal point of OTX’s emerging fight series. Vasquez, coming off a stoppage win in March, rebounded from a loss to Charlie Sheehy in November.
In the co-feature, bantamweight Saul Sanchez (20-3, 12 KOs), 27, of Pacoima, California, weighed in at 118 pounds, while Arthur Villanueva (35-5-1, 20 KOs), 35, of the Philippines, weighed just under at 119 pounds.
