Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz labeled WBA light welterweight champion Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero a “coward” during their virtual press conference to promote their fight on PBC on Amazon Prime PPV on March 30th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Rolly claimed that Cruz couldn’t replicate his fighting style with his sparring partners. Cruz fired back that cowardice is easy to replicate.

Romero vs. Cruz will meet in the co-feature on the Keith Thurman vs. Tim Tszyu card on March 30th. It remains to be seen if either of these two fights deliver. Rolly is considered by many to be a paper champion, a fake belt-holder who owes his WBA world title to referee Tony Weeks.

Rolly’s Record: More Smoke Than Fire

Cruz (25-2-1, 17 KOs) views Rolly (15-1, 13 KOs) as a flawed fighter who “doesn’t like to fight,” which is why he’s been inactive for ten months since capturing his WBA 140-lb title in a shady win over past his best Ismael Barroso last May.

Romero has been chilling since then without fighting. That screams, “scared of a real fight.”

Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero: “He can’t replicate me. I can replicate him,” said Rolly during today’s virtual press conference. “I have a very unique style. I think my style goes hand and hand with my personality.

“It’s hard to find someone like me. Now, he can’t replicate my power, he can’t replicate the explosiveness, and he can’t replicate my speed. He can’t replicate anything about me. Like I said, good luck trying to find sparring for me.”

Rolly was on the move his entire fight with Barroso, and was getting worked over by the 40-year-old each time he would stop. It’s not hard for Pitbull Cruz to replicate Rolly’s style of fighting because it’s purely evasive, and it’s not someone that will be coming to brawl with him like Gervonta Davis did.

Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz: “It’s actually not hard to find someone like him to spar with. Cowards that don’t really like to fight. I can find that anywhere.
