Ryan Garcia says he’ll beat Devin Haney again if he chooses to go in that direction. Kingry came out of the woodwork today, reacting to Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) posting about a potential return to the ring on social media.
Bill Haney’s Uneasiness
Haney and his dad, Bill, haven’t said whether they’ll pursue a rematch with Ryan. When Bill Haney was asked about in an interview today, he danced around the subject of a rematch with Ryan.
The way Bill Haney evaded the question was like he was being interrogated by the
The Grand Inquisitor was about to have his feet put to the fire. Bill looked nervous and shifty-eyed with that question.
Obviously, with the money that the Haney’s can make in a second fight with Ryan, that’s the direction they’ll go in because they’re not likely to make similar dough against anyone apart from Terence Crawford.
Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) is suspended until the first quarter of next year due to his testing positive for the banned substance Ostarine for their fight.
Bill made a big production about Ryan’s positive test and him coming in 3 lbs overweight at the weigh-in, but with the way the fight played out, he would have won even if he tested clean and made weight. Haney had no answer for Ryan’s left hook and kept getting hit with it all night.
He feels he “ruined” Haney with his twelve-round majority decision earlier this year on April 20th. Ryan did beat up Haney pretty badly, knocking him down three times in the fight, and having an easy time dominating.
Haney’s Humiliation Laid Bare
“I would beat his [backside] twice. I beat him easy. They could blood test me every week, every day. They could have a camera in my training camp. They could know everything, but this man will not beat me,” said Ryan Garcia on social media about Devin Haney.
If Haney wants to avenge his loss, he’ll take the rematch with Ryan and show that he can beat him when he comes in weight and is clean. It’s doubtful that he will because Ryan is too fast and powerful for him. That’s the problem, and it’s not going to change in the second fight.
“I’ve ruined this man bad. It’s funny that Bill [Haney] is continuing the same story. He’s just trying to make it seem like I cheated, and there’s no way his son would have lost if I didn’t take Ostarine when we know I didn’t.”
