Chris Eubank Jr says he’s excited for what’s to come over the next couple of years.
As reported by Sky Sports, Chris Eubank Jr has just penned a new partnership deal with promotional outfit Boxxer and says he’ll be looking to silence all of his naysayers by the big fighters he’s going after.
“I’m very excited to have signed with BOXXER and Ben Shalom. They fit the direction I want to go in. We have big plans over the next 12 to 24 months. There are big fights in the pipeline and these guys can make it happen. This is a partnership. I have the freedom and the leeway to work how I want to work, which is very rare. I’m in a position of power. I’m in a position to really control the direction that I want to go in, so I’m excited,” Eubank Jr said.
Eubank Jr would continue by saying that even though he’s been in the professional ranks for 12 years now, he’s still a hungry fighter that’s in love with the sport and he’s now in a privileged position to make a number of fights happen, specifically mentioning the likes of Canelo, Terence Crawford, Conor Benn, and Billy Joe Saunders.
A supposed fight between Eubank Jr and Benn seems like a doomed proposition as the fight has been in serious consideration at least several times now and there always proves to be an impediment that stands in the way. I’m in no way blaming Eubank Jr for the obstacles that matchup has encountered, but it just has the feel of a fight that’s not meant to be.
With that being said, if Eubank Jr were to land himself a fight against Canelo or Crawford, those would certainly be bouts that garner considerable attention on both sides of the Atlantic but there will obviously be doubters about Eubank’s intentions and whether or not he’ll actually follow through.
