Chris Eubank Jr. is elated after signing a promotional deal with BOXXER and believes that big fights against Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford, and Conor Benn are on the horizon for him.

Canelo Alvarez: The Crown Jewel

Eubank Jr. (33-3, 24 KOs) is one of the two names Canelo is considering for his next defense of his undisputed super middleweight championship in September, and that would be a massive fight in the U.S and the UK on PPV if it goes down.

At 34, Eubank Jr. must take advantage of the little time he has left in his career because he’s nearing the end. His skills and energy have visibly deteriorated from his best years from 2015 to 2019, and he’s got to get the big fights while he still can.

There’s not much left of Eubank Jr’s skills, and he looked like an old guy getting knocked out by Liam Smith in the 4th round last year in January 2023.

The Dream Fights: Canelo, Crawford, Benn, and Saunders

– Canelo Alvarez
– Terence Crawford
– Conor Benn
– Billy Joe Saunders

Eubank Jr. can forget about fighting Terence Crawford because the Nebraska native is targeting the big fish, Canelo Alvarez, after his title challenge next month against WBA junior middleweight champion Israil Madrimov on August 3rd in Los Angeles. Crawford isn’t going to waste time going after an aging minnow.

There wouldn’t be as much fan interest in seeing Eubank Jr. fight a rematch against Billy Joe Saunders because the former two-division world champion has shown no ambition by sitting inactive for the last three years since getting a massive payday against Canelo on May 8, 2021.

Saunders lost that fight by an eighth-round knockout and hasn’t been seen inside the ring since. If Eubank Jr. gives Saunders a fight, it would be a match that older British fans would be interested in seeing, but it wouldn’t resonate with the younger crowd, who would view the two 34-year-olds as fossils just looking to cash in before they leave the sport.

Welterweight Conor Benn is another fight that might not spark fans’ interest in the UK or worldwide. Benn has looked terrible in his two fights since he got into trouble after suspension. Despite being still young at 27, Benn doesn’t look like the same fighter he once was, and there’s not nearly the same buzz about his fights as there was in the past.

“There are 4 or 5 different names out there that are mega-fights that everybody wants to see. Canelo Alvarez, Terence Crawford, Conor Benn, Billy Joe Saunder,” said Chris Eubank Jr. in a press release today.
