Jarrell Miller warned former heavyweight champion Andy Ruiz Jr. today at the final press conference, letting him know that he’s coming to “whoop” his backside on Saturday night when they meet in the Riyadh Season event at the BMO Stadium in Los Angeles.

Miller (26-1-1, 22 KOs) says his loss to Daniel Dubois last December in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, woke a “demon” in him, and he’s lost 40+ lbs and transformed him into a vintage condition that fans haven’t seen from him since 2018.

That could be bad news for Ruiz (35-2, 22 KOs), who hasn’t fought in two years, and he may not be ready to fight a physically restored version of Miller at this point.

Ruiz hasn’t looked good in any of his last three fights since pulling off a miracle victory over Anthony Joshua in June 2019, and he may not handle Miller if he comes out throwing 80+ punches per round.

Jarrell Miller: “The reason I haven’t been on social media talking much because I’ve been in the lavatory working,” said Jarrell Miller during today’s final press conference ahead of his fight this Saturday night against Andy Ruiz in Los Angeles.

“On August 3rd, I’m going to have burritos and nachos, and I’m going to put an a** whipping on my boy [Andy Ruiz]. Don’t get it twisted. There’s nothing but love between me and Andy. There’s nothing but love outside of the sport of boxing, but when we get in the ring, it’s going to be a different switch, and I’m going to have to kick his a**. It’s plain and simple.

“I never run from a fight, never have, never will. Yes, that fight against Dubois was a last minute. I wasn’t 100%. I was whopping his a**, and your body just ran out of gas. I never quit. I took my a** whooping like a man. I said when I get myself out of this, it will be time for me to get back to my old self.

“This is the first time that I’ve had a camp in four years that was dedicated to myself. We put the work in and I dropped 40 pounds like it was nothing. I work hard. Don’t get it twisted. When I’m in the gym, I’m busting my a**. The Dubois fight woke up a demon in me that I haven’t seen in a while, and come August 3rd, I’m going to f*** Andy Ruiz up. Mark my word.”

Andy Ruiz Jr: “It’s amazing that His Excellency Turki for giving me this opportunity. I just got to show up and show out. Miller lost over there in Saudi Arabia. I know he’s coming hungry, and he wants to win, but so do I. I’m hungry, and I’m motivated, and I’m physically ready and prepared, and we’re going to do this.
