Noel Mikaelian suffered a cut while preparing for their initial June date

Don King’s one and only champion, WBC cruiserweight titlist Noel Mikaelian, will meet Ryan Rozicki atop a September 28th show in King’s usual haunt of Casino Miami Jai Alai.

Would-be viewers can catch the show “on Pay Per View via Triller TV, DonKing.com and Itube247.com”

Mikaelian (27-2, 12 KO) has fought just four times since a hugely questionable decision loss to Mairis Briedis in 2018’s WBSS tournament. After a pair of wins over limited opponents, he outclassed faded slugger Youri Kayembre Kalenga to earn a shot at champion Ilunga Makabu, whom he subsequently brutalized in three last November.

A June date with Rozicki (20-1, 19 KO) fell through after Mikaelian suffered a cut, making this the latter’s first bout in nearly 11 months.

Canada’s Rozicki has won seven straight since falling to Oscar Rivas in 2021, but his run is better on paper than in reality. His biggest win, a split decision over contender Yamil Alberto Peralta, was such an egregious robbery that the WBC outright refused to give Rozicki the alphabet trinket that was on the line. He was last seen handing the extremely overcooked Olanrewaju Durodola his eighth stoppage loss in December.

Pay-per-view worthy? Not in the slightest, but at least the genuinely skilled Mikaelian is back in action.
