Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez fights Pedro Guevara in the co-main event
IBF welterweight champion Jaron Ennis is set for another home game, as Matchroom announced that “Boots” will rematch IBF mandatory challenger Karen Chukhadzhian on November 9th at Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center.
It’s unclear how exactly Matchroom gained control of the bout after P2M Box Promotions outbid them by a considerable margin earlier this month, but here we are.
Chukhadzhian (24-2, 13 KO) didn’t go down against Ennis (32-0, 29 KO) or allow him to impress, but he also didn’t win a round. He’s won three straight since, picking up an IBF trinket along the way and subsequently beating Harry Scarff to “earn” another crack at the champ. I don’t envision this one going any better for him.
“I’m excited to be back headlining in my city again,” said Ennis. “I’m ready to continue dominating the division, making a big statement and showing everyone why I’m the best Welterweight in the world!
“It’s time to have some fun, keep crushing whoever is in front of me, put on a beautiful, dominant, crushing performance in front of my family, friends and supporters, while defending and retaining my IBF world title in spectacular fashion. It’s time!”
“Dear boxing fans,” said Chukhadzhian. “I want to share with you the good news: on November 9 we will fight for the IBF World title against Ennis.
“I will have enough time to prepare and show a beautiful and spectacular fight! Champ, get ready for the battle, it will be hot!”
As revealed earlier this week, WBC super flyweight titlist Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez (20-0, 13 KO) will meet interim champ Pedro Guevara (42-4-1, 22 KO) in the co-feature. This figures to be a fun one between one of the sport’s best talents and a durable, capable veteran.
“On November 9 tune in to DAZN, get your tickets and witness another exciting performance,” said Rodriguez. “My belts aren’t going anywhere! And still!”

Eddie Hearn also announced that former WBA featherweight champ Raymond Ford (15-1-1, 8 KO) will make his super featherweight debut against Orlando Gonzalez (23-2, 13 KO). Gonzalez flamed out as a prospect after losses to Robeisy Ramirez and Misael Lopez, but did put on a show against Jorge Castaneda on ProBox TV last year.
