Jaron Ennis has another fight at home next weekend when he takes on Karen Chukhadzhian in a rematch.
Ahead of the upcoming Nov. 9 card in Philadelphia headlined by the rematch of Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis vs Karen Chukhadzhian — with chief support from Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez vs Pedro Guevara — Matchroom releases its build up documentary that highlights both Boots and Bam as they prepare for battle.
“The plan, just collect these belts, be undisputed at 147, and then the same thing at 154,” Ennis says. “The champions, them not wanting to fight me, it’s obviously out of my hands. I did my best. I feel like they’re lacking confidence, they don’t believe in themselves. They know what’s in front of them, different type of mindset, different type of beast.
“Everybody keep asking me about Bud — Bud this, Bud that. That’s the only fight that everybody want to see. I’m trying. I tried. I wanted it to happen. It’s always going to be yes on my end. It’s up to them if it’s going to be yes on their end. Obviously they don’t want the fight so I’m focused on what I got going on right now.”
A short time later we get a look at Rodriguez who will be defending his WBC super flyweight world title on the card.
“I’ve never even been on the east coast. I saw the outcome of Boots’ card, it looked pretty packed so I’m excited to be a part of that.” Rodriguez said. “Come November 9th I think it’s going to be a great night, not only for us but for the fight fans.
“I’m ready to go, ready to take care of business, and go home and enjoy the holidays.”
