Keyshawn ’The Businessman’ Davis scored three knockdowns, stopping IBF No. 6 ranked Gustavo ‘El Electrico’ Lemos in the second round on Friday night in front of 10,000+ fans at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.
In the co-feature WBO NABO Middleweight champion Troy ‘Transformer’ Isley won a lopsided decision over a reluctant Tyler ‘Hercules’ Howard. There were technical difficulties the entire event going on and off. .
In the main event, IBF USBA, WBC USA, and WBO Inter-Continental Light champ, No. 3 IBF, Keyshawn ‘The Businessman’ Davis (12-0, 8 KOs) scored three knockdowns stopping No. 6 IBF, Gustavo ‘El Electrico’ Lemos (29-2, 19 KOs) at 1:08 of the second round of a scheduled ten rounds.
In the first round, Lemos kept coming forward, missing more than landing. Davis used his jab, going to the mid-section mostly. In the second round, Davis scored a right on the chin for the first knockdown.
On the second knockdown, a left hook dropped him. He got up and fell down, and the fight should have been stopped by Referee Raul Caiz, Jr. The final knockdown was a combination, and the referee fell, trying to stop it.
In the co-feature, WBO NABO middleweight champ Troy ‘Transformer’ Isley (14-0, 5 KOs) easily defeated Tyler ‘Hercules’ Howard, 20-2, 11 KOs) over ten lopsided rounds.
In the first five rounds, Isley outworked Howard, who didn’t seem to be able to pull the trigger despite throwing enough punches.
From the sixth round to the end, Howard kept coming forward but rarely threw anything.
Referee Malik Waleed. Scores 99-91, 98-92 and 98-92.
Welter southpaw Kelvin ’Night Night’ Davis (14-0, 7 KOs) defeated southpaw Yeis ‘El Tigre’ Solano (15-4, 10 KOs) over eight rounds scoring a knockdown.
The taller Davis boxed well in the first four rounds, out-landing the illusive Solano.
In the final round, Davis dropped Solano with a right cross on the chin for an 8-count from Referee Bill Clancy and managed to get to the bell.
Scores 80-71, 79-72 and 79-72.
Lightweight southpaw Abdullah Mason (16-0, 14 KOs) came off the canvas twice to knockout Yohan ‘La Fiera’ Vasquez (26-6, 21 KOs) at 1:59 of the second round of a scheduled eight rounds.
In the first rounds first minute Vasquez countered with a left hook on the chin dropping Mason who got up immediately for an 8-count by Referee Brent Bovell. Mason came back midway dropped Vasquez with a left on the chin for an 8-count. In the final seconds Vasquez dropped Mason with a left on the chin for another 8-count.
In the second round, near the end of two minutes, Mason dropped Vasquez with a left uppercut to the body and a right after he was down for the count from referee Bovell.
Junior middleweight Keon Davis, 1-0) defeated Jalen Moore (1-2, 1 KO) over four rounds.
The taller Davis boxed well, out-scoring Moore throughout.
Referee Bill Clancy. The scores were 40-36, 40-36, and 40-36.
Middle ‘The Native Nightmare’ Austin Deanda (15-0, 10 KOs) DeAundre ‘Dixianimal’ Pettus (12-2, 7 KOs) eight rounds.
In the first four rounds, DeAndra outworked Pettus. His trainer, Scot Sigmon, made a fool of himself from the corner, calling Pettus a bum, only making Pettus fight that much harder. From the fifth through the eighth, both had their moments.
Referee Brent Bovell. Scores 78-74, 77-75 and 77-75,
Super featherweight Robert ‘King’ Meriwether lll (8-0, 3 KOs) defeated Eric ‘Hitta’ Howard (6-3, 1 KO) over six rounds.
In the first three rounds, Meriwether had an edge. In the fourth round, Howard came back well, taking the round and out-landing Meriwether.
Referee Malik Waleed. Scores 60-54, 60-54, 59-55.
Feather Ra’eese ‘The Beast’ Aleem (21-1, 12 KOs) defeated Derlyn ‘El Coyote’ Hernandez-Gerarldo (12-3-1, 10 KOs) over ten rounds scoring the lone knockdown.
In the third round, Aleem landed a right to the body, hurting Hernandez-Gerarldo midway. A clash of heads caused a small cut on the left eyebrow of Hernandez-Gerarldo.
In the fifth round, Aleem landed a combination, knocking Hernandez-Gerarldo backward to the canvas for an 8-count from Referee Raul Caiz, Jr.
Scores 100-89 by all three judges.
