In the Main Event returning to the ring after nineteen years at age 58 former world heavyweight champion “Iron” Mike Tyson lost an 8 round decision to Jake Paul at the AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas, Friday over NETFLIX before 72,300 in attendance.

In the Co-Main Event, the former Olympic Gold Medalist, current WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, and IBO Super Lightweight champion Katie Taylor won an exciting narrow decision over IBO, WBA, and WBO Featherweight champion Amanda “The Real Deal” Serrano that the fans seemed not to agree with for the most part.

Mike Tyson, 50-7 (44) lost to Jake Paul, 11-1 (7)  by way of Cleveland, Ohio, over 8×2 rounds.

In the first round, just over a minute into the fight, Tyson rocked Paul with a right on the chin that put him on the defense, grabbing Tyson into a cinch. With half a minute remaining, Paul landed his best punch of the round, a right on Tyson’s chin. In the second round, Tyson kept coming forward, backing Paul up the entire round, landing more punches in a round of few punches.

In the third round Tyson came out throwing bombs with few were landing. A minute into the round Paul landed several hard jabs hurting Tyson. Paul had a big round keeping Tyson off balance. In the fourth round Tyson continues to have problems with his mouthpiece as Paul keeps that jab in his face. In the final minute Tyson rarely through a punch as he would move away from Paul who had another good round.

In the fifth round, Tyson landed a left hook near the end of a minute on Paul’s chin. He landed little after that as Paul landed an overhand right on the chin in the final thirty seconds. In the sixth round, Paul used his jab, not throwing any big punches, while Tyson threw a few punches. The final minute had the fans wanting more action.

In the seventh round, Tyson started throwing more punches in the first minute than in previous rounds. In the final minute, Paul out-landed Tyson right to the bell. In the eighth and final round, Paul had his way. In the final seconds Paul stopped and bowed his head honoring Tyson who acknowledged it.

In the Co-Main Event in a rematch (Taylor won a split decision over Featherweight champion Serrano), former Olympic Gold Medalist, current WBA, WBC, WBO, IBF, and IBO Super Lightweight champ Katie Taylor, 24-1 (6) fought to an exciting close decision over IBO, WBO, WBA Feather champ southpaw Amanda ‘The Real Deal’ Serrano, 47-3-1 (31) over 10×2 rounds.

In the first round, in the final seconds, an overhand left from Serrano on the chin had Taylor hurt and on wobbly legs. In the second round, Taylor, coming back after a year, came back well, landing punches and tying up Serrano enough to outland Serrano, taking the round.

In the third round, Serrano out-worked Taylor, who came back in the final seconds. In the four rounds final minute, a clash of heads caused a cut on the right eyebrow of Serrano.

In the fifth round, Taylor came back, winning the round. In the sixth round with a minute remaining a clash of heads caused Referee Jon Schorle to call in the ring physician due to the cut on Serrano’s left eyebrow. In the seventh round, Taylor had good round-landing combinations on Serrano’s chin.

Schorle warned Taylor for using her head. Near the end of the round, he took a point from Taylor that didn’t look like a really good call.

In the ninth round, the war continued, with the Referee prematurely stepping in several times. It was a good round for Taylor.

In the tenth and final round, Taylor had a big final minute to take the round as Serrano’s blood-smeared face showed how hard a fight it was. Taylor may not have done enough to win the fight due to losing a point earlier. Taylor had suffered a cut on the right eyelid at the end.

Scores were 95-94 by all three judges.

WBC Interim World Welter champ Mario ‘El Azteca’ Barrios, 29-2-1 (18), ended in an exciting split draw with Abel Ramos, 28-6-3 (22) over 12 rounds, for the WBC World title.

In the first round, Barrios controlled it with his jab. Halfway through the round Barrios landed a right on the chin that buckled the knees of Ramos (who was in his second title fight having lost a split decision to Yordenis Ugas for the vacant WBA title) whose right glove may have touched the canvas, but not called a knockdown by Referee Afu. In the second round, the taller (4”) Barrios continued having his way. In the final seconds, a left hook followed by a right from Barrios on the chin and down went Ramos (fifth time in career), who got up right away, taking an 8-count from Referee Hector Afu.

In the third round, Ramos recovered well from the knockdown, but Barrios won the round. In the fourth round, Barrios continued outlanding Ramos, who finished with a four-punch combination against Barrios but suffered a small cut on his left eyebrow.

In the sixth round, at the halfway point, Ramos suddenly landed a lead and followed right on the chin of Barrios, who, on the way down, got hit with a left for an 8-count from Referee Afu. Barrios was on shaky legs to the bell. In the seventh round, Ramos controlled while Barrios recovered well.

In the eighth round, Ramos backed up Barrios the entire round, out-landing him. At the ninth round’s halfway point, Ramos drew blood from the nose of Barrios, taking another round. In the tenth round, after a minute, Barrios was drawing blood from Ramos’s nose. A good round for Ramos.

In the eleventh round, Barrios’s face was swelling, but he cut Ramos under the left eye midway, taking the round. In the twelfth and final round of an outstanding fight, Barrios managed to take another close round as Ramos’s left eye closed near.

Scores 114-112 Ramos, 116-110 Barrios, 113-113 a draw.

Middle Neeraj Goyat, 19-4-2 (8), easily defeated, debuting Whindersson Nines, 0-1 (0), over six rounds.

In the first round, with hands at his side, Goyat overwhelmed Nines, who was making his debut. With thirty seconds remaining, Goyat rocked Nines with a right on the chin. Nunes, whose nose has been very red since the end of the first minute, landed a few punches. In the second round, Nunes got in his first solid punch, a right uppercut to Goyat’s chin. Goyat, hands up for the most part now, continued to our work Nines, who was on the receiving end throughout.

In the third round, Goyat landed a flurry of punches, driving Nunes across the ring into a corner. In the final seconds, Nunes landed a double left hook to the body, hurting Goyat. In the fourth round, Goyat would land half a dozen punches without returning at the first minute.

In the fifth round, Goyat continued out-landing with flurries against the much more inexperienced Nunes. In the sixth and final round final minute, it was all Goyat landing punch after punch, backing up Nunes the entire round.

Referee James Green. Scores 59-55 and 60-54 twice.

Former WBC Silver Super Middle champ Shadasia ‘The Sweet Terminator’ Green, 15-1 (11) won a split decision over Melinda ‘The Whip’ Watpool, 7-1 (2) over 10×2 rounds, for vacant WBO World Super Middle title.

In the first four rounds Green out landed Watpool who added eight pounds for this fight. In the eighth round Watpool had her best round. In the fifth and sixth Green continued taking it to Watpool.

In the ninth round again Watpool did well in a close round taking it. In the tenth and final round Green seemed ahead and Watpool knowing it was the aggressor.

Light ‘Prince’ Lucas Bahdi, 18-0 (15), won a majority decision over Armando ‘La Furia del Quadraro, Casamonica, 14-1 (3) by a ten-round decision.

In the first two rounds Casamonica was the aggressor but got countered by Bahdi in close rounds. In the third and fourth rounds Bahdi stood his ground in outworking Casamonica.

In the sixth round, Casamonica came back well. In the seventh through the ninth rounds, Bahdi was out landing Casamonica. In the tenth and final round, it was close, with both having their moments.

Feather Bruce ‘Chu Chu’ Carrington, 14-0 (8), defeated Dana Coolwell, 13-3 (8) over eight rounds.

In the fourth round, Carrington scored a knockdown, receiving an 8-count from Referee Jon Schorle. In the eighth round, Carrington scored his second knockdown, getting an 8-count from Referee Schorle.

Scores were all 80-72.
