Fringe Contender Dillian Whyte insists that Anthony Joshua still has “a lot left” in his game despite being knocked out by IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois in his last fight.

Of course, Whyte’s attitude could be considered self-serving because it’s no secret that he’s still hoping for a lucrative rematch with Joshua. A Joshua-Whyte rematch of their 2015 fight would bring in a lot of PPV buys in the UK.

With Whyte’s slice of the pay-per-view revenue, he could walk home from $6 million to $12 million for a second fight with Joshua. As such, it’s not a surprise that Whyte is talking about Joshua having a lot left when the reality is much different.

Joshua probably won’t waste time with a fight against Whyte because he can make more money fighting Tyson Fury and a trilogy with Oleksandr Usyk. The boxing public worldwide does NOT want to see a Joshua-Whyte rematch in this lifetime.

U.S. fans wouldn’t want to see a rematch between Whyte and Joshua, but the British public would love this fight. They don’t give up on washed-up fighters like Americans do.

Joshua has lost four times since 2019, losing to these fighters:

– Daniel Dubois
– Oleksandr Usyk x 2
– Andy Ruiz

Joshua recently turned 35 and was overmatched in his loss to Dubois, getting dropped four times in his fifth-round knockout loss on September 21st. AJ doesn’t look like he has anything left and could get hurt if he chooses to take a rematch with the 27-year-old Dubois.

“He’s still got a lot left in the tank, and he’s still a big draw. And as you can see in the fight, he’s still a big puncher. He had Dubois going before Dubois landed the finishing blow,” Dillian Whyte said to Sky Sports News about Anthony Joshua.

“He’s young, strong, and looks in amazing shape. He still has a lot of fight left in him.”

Joshua can still make money for a long time, fighting in the Saudi shows and in the UK against selective opposition, like Tyson Fury. But to put Joshua in with Dubois, Martin Bakole, or Zhilei Zhang would be a bad idea and wouldn’t end well for him.

If AJ wants to keep fighting to generate money, he can do that into his 50s and possibly retire as a billionaire. Joshua’s net worth is estimated at $220 million, which could shoot up to over $400 million after two fights against Tyson Fury.

Given Joshua’s huge popularity and his punching power, it’s quite realistic for him to become a billionaire if his promoter, Eddie Hearn, matches him selectively in the next six years.
