Bakhodir Jalolov will return for the first time as a pro since his second Olympic triumph, in Paris, against French heavyweight champion David Spilmont.
Jalolov, tipped by many as a future star in the division, is 14-0 (14 KOs), while Spilmont is 16-8-1 (11 KOs).
They will fight on February 6 at the Cabaret of the Montreal Casino in Canada, with Jalolov appearing on the Eye of the Tiger bill in association with Top Rank.
“I am very excited for the next chapter of my professional career,” said Jalalov. “Now that I have represented my country at the 2024 Olympics, in 2025 I plan to push towards my quest to become heavyweight champion. And for me, this quest will resume on February 6 in Montreal.”
Also on the show, Arthur “The Wolf” Biyarslanov takes a step up when he meets Frenchman Mohamed Mimoune.
Junior welterweight contender Biyarslanov is 17-0 (14 KOs), while the visiting veteran left-hander is 24-6 (5 KOs).
Light heavyweight contender Albert Ramirez, 19-0 (16 KOs), will return on the Quebec card, too. He could find himself on the verge of a world title fight, and is ranked No. 4 by the IBF, No. 3 by the WBC, and No. 2 by the WBA and WBO.
“We have high hopes for Biyarslanov and Ramirez in 2025. In my opinion, they are perhaps one or two victories away from the biggest fights. In February, the plan is to start the year strong to allow them to finish at the top,” said Eye of the Tiger’s Camille Estephan.
Avery Martin Duval, 12-0-1 (7 KOs), Wilkens Mathieu, 12-0 (8 KOs), and Moreno Fendero, 8-0 (6 KOs) will feature in eight-rounders on the February 6 show.
