Murodjon Akhmadaliev (12-1, 9 KOs) takes on the always-tough Ricardo Espinoza (30-4, 25 KOs) as a 12-round contender in the main event for the WBA interim super bantamweight title at the Salle des Étoiles, Monte Carlo. Tonight’s event begins at 1:30 p.m. ET, live on DAZN.
Live updates will be shown below of tonight’s action:
Akhmadaliev, 30, wants a world title shot against undisputed super bantamweight champion Naoya ‘Monster’ Inoue. Still, the ONLY way he’s going to make that happen is if he can lock himself in as the mandatory.
The former IBF and WBA 122-lb champion Akhmadaliev is the Boogeyman of the division, and even the Japanese star has no desire to mix it up with him. The 2016 bronze medalist Alhmadaliev may not get the opportunity to fight Inoue before he leaves the division, as he’s already got his next two fights planned out. After that, Naoya may vacate and move up to 126.
Cruiserweight Chevon Clarke (10-0, 7 KOs) will fight for the vacant EBU title against Leonardo Mosquea (15-0, 9 KOs) in the chief support bout. Clarke may steal the show with another impressive performance.
