Jaime Munguia will reportedly fight his former conqueror, Bruno Surace, in a rematch on April 12th in Tijuana, Mexico.

The former WBO junior middleweight champion Munguia (44-2, 35 KOs) hopes to avenge his humiliating sixth-round knockout loss to Surace (26-0-2, 5 KOs) from last month on December 14th in front of his hometown fans in Tijuana.

Cobra’s Strike

Munguia, 28, got careless in round six and was dropped by a right hand from the Cobra-like Surance. The shot sent Munguia face-down on the canvas.

Jaime was out on his feet after he got back up, and the referee, Juan Jose Ramirez, halted it rather than allowing him to get poleaxed a second time by the Frenchman.

Labonita_delboxeo reports the news of the Munguia vs. Surace rematch on his Instagram channel.

It’s questionable whether it’s a good idea for Munguia to take the rematch with Surace because this guy might have his number. Earlier in the fight, Jaime knocked him down with a left hook to the head.

However, Surace stunned Munguia moments later with a cobra-like right hand to the head. Munguia took it well, but that shot was an identical one to the right hand that he dropped him with later in the fight in the sixth.
