Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney will meet for a rematch this October, and a trilogy will be in February 2026. Both fights will be in Saudi Arabia.

There’s no word yet whether the trilogy requires Haney to win the October rematch, but that would seem like a logical conclusion. With Turki Al-Sheikh financing the events, it might not matter if Haney loses the rematch. Turki still needs to confirm all this.

Money is no object. U.S. promoters wouldn’t put on a trilogy under those circumstances, obviously, because fans wouldn’t be interested in seeing a third fight after Haney gets beaten again.

Haney & Garcia Share Card

To get fans excited about the rematch, the plan is to have Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) and Ryan take tune-ups on the same card in May. Then, they’ll meet in October for the rematch. Sharing the same card in May will be interesting.

Haney’s potential opponent is former WBC and WBO light welterweight champion Jose Ramirez, coming from a 10-round unanimous decision to Arnold Barboza Jr. on November 16th. Ramirez would be a risky fight for Haney because he’s a pressure fighter with power and excellent technical skills.

If Devin & Ryan fight someone a little too good, they could lose. We don’t know how Haney’s chin will hold up after being hurt numerous times in his loss to Ryan last April. He hasn’t fought since, and it’s quite possible that his punch resistance may have been impaired. If so, it’s possible that Haney will get knocked out in May and mess up the rematch with Ryan in October.

“Haney, verbally agreed to the steps that will lead to a planned rematch in October and even a trilogy bout next February, both in Saudi Arabia,” said Lance Pugmire on Boxingscene. “Garcia and Haney are also pegged to fight separate bouts on the same card in early May.”

The money that Ryan and Haney will make from these three fights will likely be huge and easily the biggest payday of their short careers.

Ryan (24-1, 20 KOs) defeated Haney by a 12-round majority decision on April 20th last year in Brooklyn, New York. The victory was later overturned and changed to a no-contest after Ryan tested positive for the banned PED Ostarine.
