Puerto Rican amateur star Yandiel Lozano has signed professional terms with Frank Warren and Queensberry Promotions following a sterling vested career that is reported to be 119-9.

Lozano, who claimed silver at the world youth championships last year, will be managed by Shelly Finkel and trained by Juan Lopez and Jose Garcia.

According to a release from Queensberry Lozano’s strengths include, “A strong work ethic, exceptional footwork, defensive skills and formidable punching power.” No slouch, then.

Other amateur achievements include: four-time champion of the Bert Sugar Tournament, Florida Junior Silver Gloves champion, two-time Puerto Rican National Champion, two-time Scholastic Games champion and champion of the Roy Jones Tournament.

“I am hugely excited to bring yet another exceptional young fighter to Queensberry,” said Warren. “With our DAZN broadcast partnership fast approaching [in April], we stated our intention to widen our talent pool beyond the UK and return to promoting in overseas territories. Yandiel will play a big part in our new horizon when he enters the professional ranks with us.

“We have always enjoyed a strong friendship and long-standing working relationship with his manager Shelly Finkel and I am extremely happy to be working with him to develop the career of Yandiel.”
