For the second time, Jeremiah Milton has a new opponent for his upcoming ring return.
Milton, an unbeaten heavyweight prospect from Tulsa, Oklahoma, will face fellow undefeated big man Stanley Wright on Friday in the 10-round co-main event at ProBox TV Events Center in Plant City, Florida. The opponent switch comes after the previous opponent, Kashaun Davis, withdrew from the fight last week because of an injury.
The 34-year-old Wright, 13-0 (11 KOs), of Charlotte, North Carolina, will be stepping up in opposition for this fight, having yet to face an opponent with a winning record in his 11-year pro career.
Milton, 11-0 (7 KOs), who is now based in Las Vegas, will be fighting for the first time since August 2023, when he won a unanimous decision over Craig Lewis in his hometown of Tulsa.
Milton had originally been scheduled to fight Earl Newman, 10-4-1 (7 KOs), of Brooklyn, New York, before he also withdrew due to an injury.
“Jeremiah has been really professional in the build-up to this,” said ProBox matchmaker Chris Glover. “It’s not been easy – we’ve had multiple opponents fall out, but Jeremiah hasn’t turned down anyone we’ve put to him.
“I want to say massive credit to Stanley Wright and his manager, Michael Englert, for taking this fight at the last minute. Two big undefeated heavyweights going at it will be a lot of fun.”
The main event will feature Najee Lopez, 12-0 (9 KOs), against Gilbert Castillo Rivera, 25-6-1 (19 KOs), in a 10-round light heavyweight fight.
