As is often the case with disgruntled fighters these days, Savannah Marshall today decided to air her dirty laundry on social media in an effort to explain why she will no longer be appearing on the Boxxer card at the Royal Albert Hall on March 7.
Originally scheduled to box on that date, Marshall, 13-1 (10), has since learned that she will be doing something else that night.
She wrote on social media: “I was told I was fighting on the March 7th on the all-female card for Boxxer. Opponent agreed I have been in camp for the past few weeks. I was also asked to travel to London for the press conference where I was told my fight would be announced. Instead I was sidelined and left feeling humiliated and confused. I honestly thought I would have been treated with a bit more respect. Due to disputes with Boxxer I WILL NOT be fighting on March 7th.”
Blighted by inactivity, Marshall’s last boxing match was against Franchon Crews Dezurn back in July 2023 and it has now been over two years since she lost to Claressa Shields at London’s O2 Arena. She has more recently flirted with the idea of pursuing a career in mixed martial arts and even made her MMA debut last June, when stopping Mirela Vargas in the first round at PFL Europe in Newcastle.
