The WBA interim super-featherweight champion Albert Batyrgaziev will defend his title against Argentina’s Nery Cruz Romero on March 7 in Moscow, Russia.
The 11-0 (8KOs) Batyrgaziev, who won Olympic gold at Tokyo 2020, earned the lightly regarded title in July 2024 when stopping Jono Carroll of Ireland in four rounds.
Batyrgaziev, 26 years old, represents the lead attraction on the IBA Night of the Champions promotion.
Cruz Romero, who is 10 years older, is 18-0 (10KOs).
