Denys Berinchyk vs Keyshawn Davis, Jack Catterall vs Arnold Barboza, and Oscar Duarte headline the biggest shows of the boxing week!

Friday, Feb. 14

PPV/TrillerTV+(?), 7:30 pm ET, Gloves & Roses: A Night of Professional Boxing. An Alessi Promotions show out of Tampa. They say you can stream it through their website for $19.95, or through TrillerTV+, but the show isn’t listed there yet and the direct link takes you to a September event instead. Efetobor Apochi is in action for the first time since his dramatic and debatable decision loss to Cheavon Clarke back in August. I appreciate the special romantic Valentine’s Day promotional branding around this show. And, let’s be honest – If your Valentine’s plan for your special lady involves taking her to the Tampa Hilton for some pounding? Even in the worst case scenario, this show wouldn’t be the biggest disappointment of her night.

ESPN/ESPN+, 9:00 pm ET, Denys Berinchyk vs Keyshawn Davis. Berinchyk, 36, is the WBO lightweight champion, a title he earned with a split decision win over Emanuel Navarrete in May. Davis fights for his first world level belt at age 25. Chief support sees Xander Zayas against Slawa Spomer, who is undefeated and German/Kyrgyz. Prelims start on ESPN+ at 5 pm ET, and currently list Abdullah Mason, Rohan Polanco, Vito Mielnicki, Tiger Johnson, and Nico Ali Walsh. BLH will have live updates

DAZN, 2:00 pm ET, Jack Catterall vs Arnold Barboza. For an interim WBO title. Intriguing little matchup between two guys who’ve made the most of every opportunity they could get. Catterall “lost” to Josh Taylor three years ago, didn’t get his chance at revenge until May of last year, then followed up that win with a dominant performance against Regis Prograis in October. Barboza was a Top Rank mid-carder who just would not lose no matter who they threw him in against. He had an up-and-down 2024 under the Golden Boy banner, winning a rust shaker in January, getting a gift of a split decision against Sean McComb in April, then actually earning a UD over Jose Ramirez in November. Zelfa Barrett vs Jazza Dickens is probably the highlight of the undercard for anyone who wants to party like it’s 2020 again. BLH will have live updates

DAZN, 7:00 pm ET, LOVE and WAR. CES Boxing offers you Carlos Gonzalez vs Alexander Espinoza from a casino in Connecticut. Gonzalez, of course, defends the NABA featherweight title. Rashidi Ellis appears in support.

DAZN, 8:00 pm ET, Oscar Duarte vs Miguel Madueno. DAZN still shows this as Duarte vs Regis Prograis, even though Prograis was pulled for an injury almost a week ago. This event was leaning heavily on the name value of Prograis, and your chief support is Darius Fulghum against Winfred Harris, who hasn’t won a fight since March of 2022. Live coverage is still in effect, though, and we’ll try to have a good time. BLH will have live updates
