Once again, Manuel “Guccy Manny” Flores will main event at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino.
That’s where Golden Boy Promotions has showcased the junior featherweight regularly in recent years. Seven of Flores’ past nine appearances dating back to 2022 have come at the venue in Indio, California.
Now it will be eight of his past 10. Golden Boy announced in a press release that Flores, 19-1 (15 KOs), will take on Jorge Leyva in a 10-round bout on DAZN.
“I’m back in my hometown and ready to put on another show,” Flores was quoted as saying in a press release. “I am ready to separate myself from the rest of the division and continue my quest to become the best.”
Flores is a 26-year-old from nearby Coachella. His lone defeat came in June 2023, when he dropped a wide unanimous decision to the 11-2 Walter Santibanes. Flores has won four in a row since, three by second-round stoppages, followed by a 110-second victory over the 21-4-1 Victor Olivo last October.
Leyva, a 23-year-old from Mexico, is 18-3 (13 KOs). In 2024, he lost a split decision to the 11-2 Jose Alberto Arias in March and then outpointed the 23-14-5 David Carmona in June.
