Cain Sandoval is enjoying life at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Gym where the junior lightweight prospect is preparing for his February 21 with Filipino Mark Bernaldez by sharing the ring with some of the best fighters in the sport.
“This is my first training camp in Los Angeles with Freddie at Wild Card and I can feel my body getting stronger every day,” Sandoval, 14-0 (12 KOs), said at media event Tuesday. “I’ve gotten great sparring here including with Devin Haney.
“2025 is a very big year for me and I’ll be ready to kick it off in style on February 21. The 140lbs. division is very deep and I plan on challenging many of the top names.”
His battle with the experienced Bernaldez, 25-6 (18 KOs), is set for 10 rounds and will be broadcast by UFC Fight Pass.
Also on Tom Loeffler’s 360 Promotion card, which will be staged at Chumash Casino Resport, is junior bantamweight prospect Daniel Barrera, 8-0-1 (4 KOs), who takes on Christopher Rios, 10-2 (7 KOs).
“Training camp in Arizona for this fight has been great, I know Rios is a very tough fighter and I’ll have to be at my very best to be victorious,” said Barrera.
“I love fighting at Chumash Casino, it’s my second home. This is my fourth time fighting there and my fans love seeing me fight there. I want to fight at least four times this year and I want to see my name at the top of the ‘Prospect of the Year’ lists.”
