The rebuilding has begun for “Kid Kansas” Alan Garcia.

The 21-year-old lightweight now has a date for his return: February 1, according to his Instagram.

He has a place: the Finney County Fairgrounds in Garden City, Kansas, less than an hour from Garcia’s hometown of Ulysses. This will be Garcia’s first time fighting in Kansas since November 2022. No opponent is listed yet.

“I’m more than ready to get back on track and perform in front of my people again,” Garcia, 14-1 (11 KOs), posted on social media.

Garcia signed a long-term contract with Top Rank in March 2024. He had essentially auditioned on a pair of the promoter’s cards beforehand, winning one bout by six-round decision and the other via first-round TKO.

Garcia then had four more shows officially under Top Rank’s banner in 2024 and remains signed to the promoter. He picked up wins on the undercards of Oscar Valdez-Liam Wilson in March, Denys Berinchyk-Emanuel Navarrete in May, and Luis Alberto Lopez-Angelo Leo in August. The loss came on the undercard of Jaime Munguia’s fight with Erik Bazinyan.

“I suffered my first loss last night with just a simple mistake,” Garcia posted the day after. “It’s boxing. I love every part of this sport, the good and the ugly. I take my losses with my wins and the hate with the love. I move forward.”
