Alexis Rocha and Raul Curiel both under 147lbs

We are one sleep away from determining whether Alexis Rocha or Raul Curiel will emerge as the marquee welterweight for Golden Boy Promotions heading into 2025.

The two will meet Saturday night in a 12-round welterweight bout at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California. The event will air live on DAZN.

Rocha weighed in at 146.4lbs, while Curiel tipped the scales slightly heavier at 146.6lbs. Rocha, 27, enters on a two-fight win streak following a sixth-round knockout loss to Giovani Santillan in October 2023. This marks Rocha’s third fight of 2024, with his most recent victory coming via unanimous decision over Santiago Dominguez in July. Rocha holds a record of 25-2 (16 KOs).

Curiel, 29, who trains at Wild Card Boxing under Freddie Roach, is also fighting for the third time this year. After stopping Jorge Marron Jnr in the first round in April, the 2016 Mexican Olympian now enters with a 10-fight knockout streak. Curiel is undefeated at 15-0 (13 KOs).

In the co-feature, junior middleweight contender Charles Conwell weighed in at 153.8lbs, while his undefeated opponent Gerardo Luis Vergara came in at 152.8lbs. 

Conwell, 27, signed with Golden Boy Promotions earlier this year and boasts a record of 20-0 (15 KOs). He rides a two-fight knockout streak, with his most recent victory being a second-round knockout of Khiary Gray in August. Vergara, 30, from Argentina, enters on a four-fight knockout streak. Fighting in the U.S. for the first time, he also holds a perfect record of 20-0 (13 KOs).
