All respect after Jarrett Hurd and Jeison Rosario ends in stalemate

It was all respect after the hard-fought draw between Jarrett Hurd and Jeison Rosario last night.

The two middleweight veterans boxed 10 even rounds and the judges could not split them by the end of their ProBox TV main event.

Hurd, from Accokeek, Maryland, is now 25-3-1 (17 KOs), and the 33-year-old said he was open to fighting Rosario again. 

“I’d definitely take the rematch, man,” Hurd said backstage in Tampa. “It was a good fight, two former unified champions. It was a close one. If we want to see who really is the better man, let’s do it again.”

Hurd, boxing on ProBox TV for the first time, added of the experience: “It was great. It kind of reminded me of my ShoBox pro debut when I thought Frank Galarza. I appreciate the opportunity and it was wonderful.”

Rosario, nicknamed “Banana,” visited Hurd’s locker-room to congratulate him. Rosario is now 24-4-2 (18 KOs) and the Florida-based Dominican, 29, told his rival: “God bless you. People were saying we didn’t have a lot left, and we just showed that we have a lot left.

“You’re a big fighter, you were strong, you were intelligent. You have my respect.”

“Same here,” replied Hurd. “You were better than I expected.”
