Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams was trying to put the scare in Hamzah Williams in their face-to-face, talking about their middleweight fight this Saturday night on DAZN PPV in Riyadh, Saudi.
The Joker-esque Pre-Fight Persona
Ammo (16-0, 11 KOs) sounded like he’s been studying the Joker character from Batman, because he had the scary voice and persona down, Hamzah (19-0, 15 KOs) even looked worried.
Two middleweights will be battling in the 5 vs 5 competition. The 25-year-old Hamzah is Queensberry’s team captain, and they feel he’s got the ability to be victorious against Ammo Williams.
Hamzah has been knocking out his opponents early in the last three years. The last time a fighter made it to the ninth round against Hamzah was in 2021.
Of course, his opponents have been domestic-level fighters with marginal talent, and he’ll be fighting a top-tier opponent for the first time on Saturday night when he faces Ammo.
It’ll be interesting to see if Hamzah has the ability to fight someone who can hit him back. In his last fight, Hamzah landed a simple jab, and his opponent fell over.
Ammo’s Predictions and Psychological Warfare
“I give him two minutes and thirty seconds in the first round where y’all will see an attitude and demeanor out of him that you’ve never seen before,” said Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams to TNT Sports Boxing, talking about his opponent, Hamzah Sheeraz ahead of their fight this Saturday night.
“We shared an opponent around the same size as him,” said Ammo. “Height and size is nothing. You get in the mix of things, and things level out. Every fighter knows that.”
Ammo seems to be concerned about the 6’3″ height of Sheeraz, as he was mentioning throughout the face-to-face. Although he said he’s not worried about Sheeraz’s height, he clearly is. Sheeraz doesn’t fight tall.
What makes him dangerous is his power, or at least it’s lethal against the sub-level opposition he’s been feasting on.
“You mention my height quite a lot. You’re worried,” said Sheeraz. “What if I want to fight you on the inside?”
“We can fight on the inside,” said Ammo.
“It only matters if you know how to use it,” said Sheeraz about height.
“Do you know how to use it?” said Ammo.
“What do you think?” said Sheeraz.
“I don’t know.” said Ammo.
“Clearly you do because you’ve been mentioning it,” said Sheeraz.
“I keep mentioning it. You’re tall. You’re probably the tallest guy in the division right now,” said Ammo. “That’s what makes this victory even more sweet. I can taste it, and I know you’re not into the senses because you’re just here to win. You’re just here to get the points.
Hunger for Victory
“I’m here to devour. I’m hungry; I love it. My mouth is watering for you. I want you in the ring. I want to totally destroy this mantle. I want to take you apart,” said Ammo Williams.
“You’re trying to convince yourself,” said Sheeraz. “Relax, chill.”
