JAMESTOWN, Calif. – Junior welterweight Anthony Cuba says he felt disrespected by DeMichael Harris when they weighed in ahead of today’s fight.

Cuba will be in an eight-round bout against Harris taking place at Chicken Ranch Casino Resort. The bout will be broadcast live on ProBox TV.

Cuba, 22, initially came in at slightly over the catchweight limit. Harris, 27, called Cuba “a little guy” when they faced off before grabbing Cuba’s chin, which led to the two being separated. Jessy Cuba, Cuba’s father and trainer, voiced displeasure at Harris’ actions.

“It was very disrespectful,” Cuba told BoxingScene. “He needs to get humbled. He thinks he is on top of the world. He thinks he can just touch someone else like that, especially the way he did – that isn’t right.”

Cuba made the agreed weight at the second time of asking, hitting the scales at 137.2lbs. Harris came in at 134.2lbs.

“I feel he is a little intimidated of me,” Cuba, 8-1-2 (4 KOs), said. “I am just ready to go out there and showcase what I have learned.”

Harris, 27, enters the fight undefeated with a record of 12-0 (11 KOs). Cuba’s lone professional loss was to blue chip prospect Curmel Moton. Cuba enters off a second-round technical knockout in November, his first win since the loss to Moton.

“For that fight I wasn’t myself,” Cuba said of his bout with Moton. “I was very dehydrated with that weight cut. This time I am feeling great. I feel like myself and I am ready to go show everybody exactly who I am.”
