Anthony Joshua looked nervous in exchange with Daniel Dubois during their sit-down face-to-face interview with DAZN yesterday.

The two fighters almost started a fight at the table after the former two-time heavyweight champion Joshua glared at IBF champion Dubois, saying, “I’m just ready to fight.”

Dubois Stands His Ground, Unfazed by Joshua’s Threats

The stare was a direct challenge by Joshua, who attempted to intimidate the younger fighter and force him into exhibiting submissive behavior. AJ wanted Dubois to submit mentally, and he wasn’t going to do it.

Joshua’s efforts were primitive, but Dubois was having none of it. He let the aging 34-year-old AJ know they could start fighting right then and there.

In a sign of fear and weakness, Joshua threatened Dubois, saying he would hit him with a chair. If you read into the message, Joshua didn’t feel confident of beating Dubois with his fists, so he needed a weapon.

This was a clear victory for Dubois, who showed that Joshua lacked the confidence to meet him on the battlefield in a man-to-man fight without the need for weapons.

Dubois’s Psychological Victory

Anthony Joshua: “Aside from belts and aside from it being him, I’m just ready to fight,’ said Anthony Joshua to DAZN Boxing, talking about his match against IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois on September 21st.

Daniel Dubois: “Let’s go.”

Frank Warren: “Let’s wait until the 21st,” said promoter Frank Warren, acting as the peacemaker before a brawl erupted between the young gun, Dubois, and Joshua.

Dubois: “If he wants to swing, let’s go now.”

Joshua: “Shut up, relax.”

Dubois: “If you want to go now, let’s go.”

Joshua: “Relax.”

Dubois: “If you want to go now, let’s go.”

Joshua: “I’ll hit you with a chair across your face. Don’t disrespect me.”

Dubois: “You can’t intimidate me. Who do you think you are?”

Joshua: “Daniel, don’t disrespect me.” At this point, Joshua gets up from his chair and approaches Dubois as if he’s going to start something. “Daniel, I don’t take disrespect lightly.” Joshua then glares at Dubois like he’s going to do something.
