Arthur Biyarslanov overpowers late fill-in Tamas Kiliti in Montreal

Junior welterweight Arthur Biyarslanov delivered a dominant performance with a third-round stoppage of previously unbeaten Tamas Kiliti in the main event at Montreal Casino on Thursday night.

From the start, Biyarslanov (16-0, 14 KOs) showcased superior skill and physicality. He knocked Kiliti (10-1, 6 KOs) to the canvas with a right uppercut to the body in the opening round. Kiliti got up but was immediately floored again by a powerful straight left hand to the body. Biyarslanov, 29, relentless throughout, trapped Kiliti – also 29 – in the neutral corner and finished him off with a right hook, sending Kiliti to the canvas for the third time in the first round.

Hungary’s Kiliti, who took the fight on short notice, struggled with pain between rounds. Broadcaster Corey Erdman referred to him as a “small-town dreamer,” though on this night there were nothing but nightmares for him in the ring.

In the second round, Biyarslanov kept Kiliti pinned against the ropes and knocked him down again with a series of punches. Kiliti managed to beat the count but was unable to turn the fight around. In the third, Biyarslanov continued his one-sided attack. Kiliti attempted to fight back but was dropped by a sharp right hook after throwing a wide punch of his own. The bout was stopped immediately – at 1:38 of the third round – after Kiliti hit the canvas.

The win marked Biyarslanov’s third fight of 2024 and extended his knockout streak to eight. Biyarslanov was originally scheduled to fight Marcos Villasana Jr.
