MVP adds to its roster by signing champion Alycia Baumgardner.
Undisputed junior welterweight champion Alycia Baumgardner has officially inked a deal with Jake Paul’s MVP company, as reported by ESPN, in an effort to strengthen the company’s push to promote the development of women’s boxing.
“I’ve always believed in betting on myself, and signing with MVP is the next big move in that journey,” said Baumgardner, 30, in a statement to ESPN. “MVP has proven they’re leaders in women’s boxing, creating the biggest opportunities for fighters like me to shine. This partnership is a natural fit-not just for my career but for the impact we’re making on the sport. The future just got even bigger.”
In a public statement MVP would say the signing helps the company strategically build its roster of fighters who deliver both inside and outside of the ring as they look to stage her first appearance under their banner.
At this time the company wouldn’t confirm whether or not Baumgardner will appear on the undercard of the trilogy match between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano set for July 11, but it would seem like a natural fitting.
