Six months after their controversial first fight in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, British light heavyweights Ben Whittaker and Liam Cameron will meet again, Boxxer announced today.
This time the fight will take place in Birmingham, England, at the Resorts World Arena on April 20. It will also be the main event of that show, which signifies just how big the rivalry between Whittaker and Cameron has become since their first meeting back in October.
That night in Riyadh, Cameron, 23-6-1 (10), gave Whittaker, 8-0-1 (5), plenty of problems and plenty of things to think about before an accident in round five resulted in both boxers falling out of the ring and Whittaker injuring himself. He was therefore unable to continue in the fight and the fight was stopped. It went down officially as a technical draw.
Ever since that incident there have been calls for Whittaker and Cameron to pick up where they left off and settle the score. Now, on April 20, that is exactly what they will do.
