Blair, ‘The Flair’ Cobbs predicts an early knockout victory over former four-division world champion Adrien Broner next month in their welterweight battle on June 7th at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel in Hollywood, Florida.
Doubts Surround Broner’s Commitment
Boxing fans still doubt whether Broner (35-4-1, 24 KOs) will show up for the fight, as they feel the 34-year-old is not in the game right now.
AB is going to have to be because the southpaw Cobbs (16-1-1, 10 KOs) will give him a boxing lesson and might even KO him if he’s not 100% cogent for this fight.
Cobbs is coming off a ten-round unanimous decision win over former light welterweight champion Maurice Hooker in 2022. That was easily Cobbs’ best career win, and it’s unclear why he’s been sitting on the sidelines ever since. He should have capitalized on that win by using it to get a bigger fight.
Broner still hopes to get a big-money fight against one of the popular fighters like Devin Haney, but that can’t happen unless he keeps winning and is more active. Fighting once a year ain’t going to do it.
Trash Talk Heats Up
Adrien Broner: “I’m going to put on a show,” said AB on social media. “Listen, Blair. This is your 15 minutes of fame, and it’s got to get cut. My life is going to keep going. You’re going to keep watching like you’ve been a fan and are a fan.
“Now you’re fighting your best fighter you’ve ever seen in your life. He’s a clown.
Blair Cobbs: “I’m putting the ‘Can Man’ in the trash. That’s what it is. I hope his life continues prosperously. Blair the Flair is the #1 man in the boxing game today. You’re the clown, and that’s why we’re going to go ahead and get rid of him.
“We’re going to throw the ‘Can Man’ right where he needs to be in the trash, and that’s what we’re going to do. We’re going to handle the business the way it needs to be handled.”
Broner: “June 7th, you better get your tickets because I’m not playing with him. I’m stopping him.”
Cobbs: “He’s going to be wondering, ‘Why the f*** did I take this fight?’ And guess what? The great one is going to arrive. Blair the Flair is taking over.”
Broner: “The fight is going to happen. I’m in great shape.”
Cobbs: “He’s getting his a*** whipped. Do you know why? Because it’s a** whooping time every time I show up. Every single time. I’m going to change these nails to pink nails. You’re going to get f**** up by a [guy] with pink nails. I’m going to run through Adrien Broner. We’re going to send him on his way and put him back on the streets.”
