At the Overtime Elite Arena, Atlanta, GA, Friday over DAZN in the main event, WBO #3 ranked Elijah Pierce defeated Jose ‘El General’ Sanmartin for the vacant WBA Continental Americas Super Bantamweight title.
In the co-feature in the OTX C4 Super Welter tournament, WBA Continental Americas Super Welterweight champion Brandon ‘Cannon’ Adams defeated 2020 Olympian Francisco ‘Bebu’ Daniel Veron.
Elijah Pierce, 20-2 (6), defeated Jose ‘El General’ Sanmartin, 35-9-1 (21), for the vacant WBA Continental Americas Super Bantamweight title.
In the first two rounds, Pierce dominated Sanmartin, who, with hands held high, walked into his countering punching. In the third round, Sanmartin finally started landing punches, though not enough to win the round.
Pierce dropped Sanmartin with a borderline low punch in the fourth round and dominated the rest of the round. In the fifth round’s final seconds, Sanmartin landed a right followed by a flurry of punches. From the sixth through the ninth, Pierce outworked Sanmartin. Both had moments in the tenth and final round, with Pierce taking the round and the fight.
The scores were 97-93 twice and 99-91.
In the co-feature, WBA Continental Americas Super Welter champ Brandon ‘Cannon’ Adams, 24-3 (16), defeated 2020 Olympian Francisco ‘Bebu’ Veron, 14-1-1 (10) over ten rounds.
In the first two rounds, Veron outlanded Adams. In the third through sixth rounds, Adams had Veron holding and hurt.
In the seventh round’s final seconds, Adams drove Veron into the ropes for an 8-count from Referee Ansel Stewart. In the eighth round, Veron finally landed some rights, but it was short-lived, as Adams had him hurt and holding on again the rest of the round.
In the ninth round a right to the body from Adams in the first minute hurt Veron having him holding the rest of the way. In the tenth and final round Adams made it clear he was the winner since the third round on.
Scores 95-94, 98-91, and 96-93.
Super Welter Andreas ‘Katz’ Katzourakis, 14-0 (10), won a split decision over Robert ‘Tiger’ Terry, 12-1-1 (4) over 10 rounds.
In the first four rounds, Katzourakis kept coming forward, getting countered by Terry. In the fifth through eighth rounds, Katzourakis started landing body punches when he caught up to the faster Terry.
In the ninth round Katzouakis suffered a small cut on the outside of his left eyebrow though taking the round. In the tenth and final round it was the best round of the fight as Katzouakis with blood coming from his mouth held his own.

Super Feather Maliek ‘Mayhem’ Montgomery, 19-0 (17) stopped former two-time WBC Interim Feather champ Oscar ‘El Guerrero’ Escandon, 27-8 (18) at 1:39 of the second round of a scheduled eight rounds.
In the first round, Montgomery dominated Escandon, whose best punch came after the bell. In the second round, Montgomery’s left hook drew quite a bit of blood from Escandon’s nose midway, then dropped him with a combination for the count from Referee Ansel Stewart.
Super Middle Donte Lane, 4-0 (4), scored his fourth first-round stoppage over Noah Kidd, 8-11-2 (5), at 1:52 of the first of a scheduled four rounds.
In the first round, at the midway point, Lane landed a right hook to the head, dropping Kidd for the count from Referee Malik Walee.
Super Feather Gustavo ‘El Dorado’ Rivera Rio, 10-1 (7), coming off his first loss and the canvas dominated with a knockdown of his own, defeating Carlos Dos Santos Rocha, 3-6 (2) over six rounds.
With half a minute remaining in the first round, Rocha landed a counter right on the chin, dropping Rivera Rio for an 8-count from Referee Ansel Stewart. In the second round final minute, Rivera Rio dropped Rocha, whose nose was bleeding earlier, with a left to the mid-section for an 8-count from Referee Stewart.
In the third through fifth rounds, though getting hit too much with rights from Rocha, Rivera Rios pressed the action, taking all the rounds.
In the sixth and final rounds, in the final minute, Rivera Rios, frustrated by Rocha’s pulling him into clinch after clinch since the second round, threw him to the canvas.
Scores were 58-54 x 3.
