Unfortunately for Oliveira that was his only significant offensive output as Ingram continued to work off his jab and land sharp combinations.
In the third round, Ingram allowed Oliveira to press forward as he proceeded to consistently hit Oliveira with solid shots while fighting off the back foot. Down the stretch, the bout transitioned from a boxing match to an opportunity for Ingram to work on his craft.
Ingram worked the jab, did a good job with his punch placement, fought well off the back foot, fought well off the front foot, and added a little showboating as he fought with both hands down in the 5th round. At the conclusion of the six-round contest, J’Hon Ingram was declared the winner by a score of 60-54.
