Derek Chisora defeated Joe Joyce by a ten-round unanimous decision in the main event on Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, England. In the co-main event, WBC International super featherweight champion Ryan ‘The Piranha’ Garner retained his title, defeating Archie ‘Sharpshooter’ Sharp by a ten-round unanimous decision in a battle of unbeaten boxers.
In the main event, 2016 Olympic Silver Medalist and former British, European, and current WBO Interim heavyweight champ Joyce (16-3, 15 KOs) lost by a 10-round unanimous decision to former British, Commonwealth, WBO, and WBA International champ Chisora (35-13, 23 KOs).
In the first round, they clinched within seconds. Chisora mostly went to the body, taking the round as Joyce walked to the wrong corner at the bell. In the second round, Chisora, the shorter of the two, started going to Joyce’s chin. A left hook from Chisora on the side of Joyce’s head in the final ten seconds rocked Joyce.
In the third round’s final minute, Joyce landed his best punch of the fight up until now: a right uppercut on Chisora’s chin. In the final seconds, Joyce landed a solid left to Chisora’s chin, taking the round. In the fourth round, the 40-year-old Chisora landed punches, with the 38-year-old Joyce tying him up and walking him to the ropes.
In the fifth round’s final minute, both landed haymakers, with Chisora landing a 3-punch combination and Joyce landing the final punch, a right on the chin. Another Chisora round. In the sixth round’s final twenty seconds, Chisora landed a pair of rights to Joyce’s chin.
In the seventh round’s final seconds, Joyce had Chisora in a corner and got rocked with an overhand right from Chisora, who took another round. Joyce continued walking Chisora to the ropes earlier and almost through the ropes without warning from referee Kevin Parker.
In the eighth round’s final minute, a double left hook from Joyce on the chin hurt Chisora. In the ninth round’s final minute, Chisora, coming off the ropes, landed a right on the chin, and down went Joyce for an 8-count from Referee Parker.

In the third round, Sharp was cut over the left eye, possibly from a clash of heads. After losing the first two rounds, Sharp may have won this one. In the fourth round, Sharp, wildly swinging, received a second cut outside the left eye from another clash of heads, though referee Victor Loughlin failed to call anything.
In the fifth round, Garner used his head without warning from Referee Loughlin, who hadn’t warned either from fouling. In the sixth round, Garner rocked Sharp halfway through the round with a right to the chin, and the blood continued down the left side of Sharp’s face.
In the seventh round, referee Loughlin finally gave Garner his first warning for using his shoulder. It was another round for Garner. In the eighth round, Sharp landed overhand right on the chin, which didn’t seem to affect Garner.

Garner continued chasing Sharp, and when he would catch Sharp, he would leave himself wide open for his shots, but with little effect. In the tenth and final round, bothfighters threw bombs, trying to end it. The scores were 98-92, 97-93 and 97-93.
