Cuban super middleweight prospect Osleys Iglesias (12-0, 11 KOs) scored a second-round knockout win over Sena Agbeko (28-4, 22 KOs)
Early Onslaught
Iglesias, 26, tore into Agbeko at the start of the first round, hitting him with lefts and right hooks to the head. Every punch from Iglesias was thrown with pure power, and he was clearly trying to get knockout Agbeko faster than his fellow countryman, Cuban David Morrell, had done last year.
Near the end of the first round, Iglesias hit Agbeko with a left-right combination that sent him down on his backside on the canvas. Agbeko got back up quickly, but it was definitely hurt, and barely able to make it out of the round without going down again.
Merciless Finish
In the second round, Iglesias immediately went after Agbeko, firing nonstop punches. Agbeko was against the ropes, covering up while Iglesias flailed away. Occasionally, Agbeko would fire a punch back in self-defense, catching Iglesias every time, but there weren’t enough. Finally the referee decided he’d seen enough and stopped in and halted the contest at 1:16 of round two.
