David Adeleye has been ordered to defend his English heavyweight title against Moses Itauma by the conclusion of May 2025.

Adeleye, 28, won his title inside a round when stopping Solomon Dacres earlier in December, on the occasion of his first fight under his new trainer Adam Booth. 

Less than a week after that victory at London’s Wembley Arena, the British Boxing Board of Control have responded by giving him the dubious reward of a potential fight with the promising Itauma.

The 19-year-old Itauma – widely considered the finest young fighter in Britain – next fights on December 21, on the undercard of the rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, against Australia’s Demsey McKean.
