Hamzah Sheeraz vs Tyler Denny and Liam Smith vs Josh Kelly are also on tap
Anthony Joshua’s September 21st title fight with Daniel Dubois officially boasts an undercard that includes two more championship bouts and a number of Britain’s most prominent fighters.
Joshua Buatsi (15-0, 13 KO) and Willy Hutchinson (18-1, 13 KO) have successfully come to terms for their IBF interim light heavyweight title fight after receiving their marching orders earlier this month. Hutchinson steps in for Anthony Yarde, who’s in a promotional dispute with Frank Warren, after picking up a career-best win over Craig Richards in Riyadh.
IBF super featherweight champion Anthony Cacace (22-1, 8 KO) has apparently put together a step-aside deal with mandatory challenger Eduardo Nunez, as he’ll instead make his maiden defense against Josh Warrington (31-3-1, 8 KO). Warrington is 1-3-1 in his last five and hasn’t fought at 130 in more than a decade.
Liam Smith (33-4-1, 20 KO) will look to bounce back from last September’s mauling at the hands of Chris Eubank Jr when he battles Josh Kelly (15-1-1, 8 KO). This marks Kelly’s return to the deep-ish end after three years of feasting on weak opposition following his loss to David Avanesyan.
Top middleweight prospect Hamzah Sheeraz (20-0, 16 KO) makes his second Riyadh Season appearance in the span of three months against Tyler Denny (19-2-3, 1 KO), who upset Felix Cash by technical decision last weekend. Probably a step down for Sheeraz, who’s on the cusp of a title shot after mauling “Ammo” Williams, but it’s nice to see Denny get a big opportunity after foiling Matchroom’s plans.
Turki Alalshikh’s specialist boy, Mark Chamberlain (16-0, 12 KO), gets what looks like another gimme against Josh Padley (14-0, 4 KO). “Paddy” has only been booked for 10 rounds twice.
