Jack Catterall and Regis Prograis were slated to meet on August 24th
ESPN and The Ring report that super lightweight contender Jack Catterall is out of his August 24th bout with Regis Prograis due to an undisclosed injury, with both adding that they’ll likely meet in October.
Matchroom has yet to announce whether the undercard will follow them. Rhiannon Dixon vs Terri Harper and Johnny Fisher vs Andrii Rudenko are in the lineup, as are the latest efforts from Pat McCormack, William Crolla, Campbell Hatton, and Joe McGrail. It’s not exactly a stacked undercard, but the show’s running unopposed on that date, so we’ll see how it plays out.
Catterall (29-1, 13 KO) was riding career-high momentum after beating Josh Taylor in their dramatic rematch, while Prograis (29-2, 24 KO) was looking to pick up the pieces after a shaky split decision against Danielito Zorro and subsequent one-sided defeat to Devin Haney. It figured to be an interesting clash of styles at the very least, so it’s nice that we’ll only have to wait another two months.
