Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn faced off in Riyadh | DAZN

Chris Eubank Jr had no trouble with Kamil Szeremeta, and may have set up his next fight with Conor Benn.

Chris Eubank Jr beat Kamil Szeremeta pretty handily today, but the bigger story from the fight was probably Eubank and media rival Conor Benn squaring off in the ring after it was over.

Eubank (34-3, 25 KO) put Szeremeta (25-3-2, 8 KO) down four times — once in the first round, once in the sixth, and twice in the seventh, where he got the stoppage — and never faced much real resistance from the Polish underdog, though Szeremeta gave it his best effort.

Eubank and Benn (23-0, 14 KO) were meant to fight in 2022, before Benn failed a drug test and the fight was scrapped on short notice. Their fathers, of course, were great rivals in the 1990s.

“This is the fight everyone wants to see, huh?” Eubank asked to no reaction from the crowd in Riyadh.

“After that performance, you think I’m worried?” Benn asked, as the two went back-and-forth.

Eubank said “baby” about 13 times. Neymar was there. It seems inevitable that the fight will happen, and Benn has said he’ll take it at 160 lbs, but people say lots of things before pen actually gets put to paper for a contract.

Jokingly asked why he didn’t jump in the ring to challenge his old rival Eubank to a rubber match, DAZN analyst Liam Smith said, “Leave them to it. Let’s hope they fight next. If they don’t fight next after all this WWE stuff, it’s going to be embarrassing for the pair of them.”
