Salita Promotions has added two more Olympians to its roster with featherweights Caroline Veyre and Ashleyann Lozada set to bolster the February 2 show headlined by Claressa Shields vs Danielle Perkins.

Veyre, a 2020 Canadian Olympian originally from Paris, France, and Lozada, a 2024 Puerto Rican Olympian, will be in action in separate bouts at the Dort Financial Center in Flint, Michigan. It will be telecast by DAZN.

Veyre, 36, boasts a decorated amateur career highlighted by a gold medal at the 2015 Pan Am Games. Veyre, now training in Montreal, rebounded from her only career loss with a victory over Gabriela Bouvier in December. Now 8-1, she will face Houston’s Carmen Vargas, 5-2-1, who is coming off an eight-round unanimous decision loss to Hannah Rapp.

“Being part of the same promotion and co-manager as Claressa Shields, the best female boxer in the world, is highly motivating for me,” Veyre said. “I work hard to always give my best, and I am more determined than ever to dominate this division. Let’s just say there’s a new sheriff in town!”

Lozada, 33, hailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, will make her professional debut against undefeated San Diego fighter, Denise Moran, who holds a record of 3-0. Lozada holds the distinction of being Puerto Rico’s first female Olympic boxer and claimed a bronze medal at the 2023 Pan Am Games.

“I have worked my whole life for this moment,” said Lozada. “I can’t wait to step into the ring as a pro and show my fans in Puerto Rico and everyone watching around the world that nothing will stop this Boricua from reaching my dream of becoming a world champion.”

The card will feature four women’s boxing bouts, also including Shields’ headline matchup and junior welterweight Samantha Worthington, co-promoted by Shields’ T-Rex Promotions and Salita Promotions.

Shields now serves two roles: a fighter and promoter. Shields embraces her duties as she continues to shine a light on emerging up-and-comers in women’s boxing.

“Women’s boxing is at such an exciting moment right now,” said Shields. “Having three women’s bouts on DAZN is a milestone we couldn’t have imagined five or 10 years ago. I’m proud to have blazed the trail for incredible fighters like Samantha Worthington, who’s quickly making a name for herself, and the talented women signed with Salita Promotions. This reflects my vision of not just excelling in the ring but creating opportunities as a promoter. I’m building a blueprint for the next generation to show them what’s possible.”

Salita reiterated the words of Shields, showing a commitment to a shared vision.

“Together, we strive to create equal opportunities in exposure and promotion, push for equal purses and help all our fighters achieve their dreams of becoming world champions and stars in the sport,” Salita said.
