Olivio used his superior timing to take advantage of Cuello’s tendency to plant his feet when he was ready to punch. Olivio landed 42% of his power punches, and he knocked Cuello down for the first time in his career in the second round. 47% of Olivio’s power connects- 76 power punches- were body punches. Down on all three judge’s scorecards, Cuello threw a fight-high 43 power punches in the 9th round. Trying to replicate that in the tenth round, Cuello targeted Olivo’s body, scoring a body punch knockdown a little past the halfway point of the tenth round. Another Cuello body punch sent Olivio down again. Though Olivio survived, the referee decided to stop the contest. Olivio actually landed 50 more body punches than Cuello, but Cuello’s last two body connects were the most important punches in the fight.
