Dalton Smith will fight Walid Ouizza for the European and WBC silver super lightweight titles at Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena on January 25, it was announced today.

Smith, 16-0 (12), was last seen stopping Jose Zepeda in March and fights for the European title for the first time, having previously held British and Commonwealth belts.

Ouizza, meanwhile, has held other variations of European titles but never the full EBU title. He is 19-2 (8) as a pro, with the two losses coming early against Brian Bassole and Sandy Messaoud, both on points over eight rounds. In July, he beat Bryan Venant Fanga by 10-round decision to stretch his unbeaten run to 11.

On the Nottingham undercard, Ellie Scotney, 9-0 (0), will defend her IBF super bantamweight title against Mea Motu, 20-0 (8), while Conah Walker, 14-3-1 (5) challenges Harry Scarff, 13-3 (3) for the British and Commonwealth welterweight belts. Elsewhere, Mark Dickinson, 7-1 (2) challenges undefeated Reece Farnhill, 11-0 (4) for the English super middleweight belt, and undefeated homegrown stars Ibraheem Sulaimaan, 6-0 (4) and Hamza Uddin, 3-0 (1) return to action.
