Dalton Smith, Conah Walker and Ellie Scotney each recorded victory at the Nottingham Arena in Nottingham, England, on Saturday evening.
Each, also, made statements of varying degrees. CompuBox has attempted to tell each story.
– Dalton Smith-Walid Ouizza
Smith steamrolled Ouizza, landing 60 per cent of his power punches and stunning Ouizza several times before dropping him with ten seconds left in the first round. Ouizza beat the count, only to get knocked down again at which point the referee halted the contest.
– Harry Scarf-Conah Walker
Walker snatched victory from the jaws of defeat by landing a right that sent Scarff to the canvas after the referee had given Scarff a stern warning for holding. Scarff beat the count, but couldn’t respond as Walker poured it on, forcing the referee to halt the bout 1:23 into the 11th round. Scarff out-threw Walker 315-209 over the first six rounds. Walked flipped the advantage by out-throwing Scarff 219-183 over the next five rounds. Despite throwing 70 more punches than Walker, Scarff only landed two more punches.
– Ellie Scotney-Mea Motu
Scotney landed 48 per cent of her power punches, most of the right hands that seemed like a magnet to Motu’s head. The combatants were separated by 2 landed power punches, but Scotney held a 35-10 advantage in jabs landed. All three judges scored the fight 99-91 for Scotney.
