In the latest twist in the on-again, off-again affair between light heavyweights Daniel Blenda Dos Santos and Shakan Pitters, their fight has been declared on yet again and rescheduled for April 4 at London’s York Hall.

Initially scheduled for February 7 in Sheffield, England, the matchup was scrapped after Dos Santos was found by France’s EBU to have “serious medical conditions” and failed a pre-fight fitness test.

The results of a Dos Santos brain scan was the specific cause of the cancellation only two days before the fight date, but, according to a press release from promoter GBM, those results were overturned “following a battery of enhanced tests and scans which have proved conclusively that he is clear to compete and that the initial finding was an error.”

After three changes of opponent, Pitters eventually fought Bahadur Karami, stopping him in the second round of a scheduled six.

“It’s been an unbelievably dramatic start to the year, but the delay has only heightened anticipation and we are delighted now to take this European light heavyweight championship clash to the capital,” said GBM CEO Izzy Asif.

France’s Dos Santos, 22-1 (10 KOs), will take on England’s Pitters, 20-2 (7 KOs), in a card that also features Ben Crocker, 14-0 (2 KOs), facing Tienan Bradley, 10-0 (5 KOs), at junior welterweight and Emma Dolan, 7-0 (1 KO), taking on Lauren Parker, 10-1-1 (2 KOs), at junior bantamweight.
