Bill Haney says Devin will give Jose Ramirez a beating while showing he’s an improved fighter.

Following the ‘Fatal Fury’ press conference yesterday, Devin Haney’s father/trainer Bill spoke to Fight Hub TV about Devin’s return fight, not liking how the promotion is being handled, a rematch with Ryan Garcia, and why he thinks Gervonta Davis should’ve been disqualified in his fight against Lamont Roach. Check out some of what he had to say below.

Bill Haney on his son’s opponent Jose Ramirez

“A formidable opponent. We’re looking forward to the fight, looking forward to Devin getting back under the lights, and like you heard him say, you’ll see a better version of Devin then you saw April 20th.”

On what changes they’ve made since the fight with Ryan Garcia

“We’ve been working…but you see in the promotion, what they tried to do is they always want to separate the black father and the fighter. And what you see was a bullshit-ass press conference, that Todd Grisham was one-sided, and he didn’t describe Devin the way he was supposed to describe him — as the youngest undisputed champion…

“Have you seen anyone get up from a Ryan Garcia left hook, three times off the canvas? And that piece of sh-t Todd Grisham had to ask about his chin, question his chin…what they’re trying to do is not get the voice that’s really going to tell the real in Devin’s corner. They want to separate it and they want to destroy the brand and it’s not going to work.

“May 2nd Devin is going to put belt to ass to Jose Ramirez and I guarantee you that.”

On a rematch between Devin and Ryan

“Everyone knows that they want to see the fight. I had to put the pen and paper on the golden dope fiends, I had to put it on them to make the fight happen because they were very vocal about not making the fight happen. They said the fans didn’t want to see it, everyone knows they want to see it so I put the pen and the paper — I went legal on ‘em — and tried the sh-t up.

“But it wasn’t necessarily about the lawsuit, it was about justice, it was about bringing the fans a fair fight. And we’ll see if Ryan Garcia will keep his nose clean and give the people what they want.”

On what transpired in the Tank vs Roach fight

“I didn’t see any grease…why did he take a knee? I think it should’ve been a disqualification. Anytime that I step up on the apron during the fight, they told me I would get disqualified. So, you tell me.”
