Unbeaten super middleweight contender Diego Pacheco will be fighting in the main event on September 7th on DAZN at the Health Sports Park in Carson, California.

According to Boxingscene, the #1 WBO Pacheco (21-0, 17 KOs) is negotiating to face unbeaten contender Kevin Lele Sadjo (23-0, 20 KOs).

The 34-year-old Sadjo is slight step down in competition from Pacheco’s previous opponent Shawn McCalman, who he beat by a ten round unanimous decision on April 6th in Las Vegas.

Sadjo is ranked highly at #4 WBC, #6 IBF, #7 WBO at 168, but he’s short at 5’8″, and tires in the later rounds. The France native Sadjo has not fought anyone of note during his eight-year pro career.

Shared History: Jack Cullen

Pacheco and Sadjo share a common opponent in Jack Cullen. Sadjo knocked out Cullen in six rounds in 2021, whereas Pacheco stopped him in four rounds in 2023. The hand speed of Sadjo was what gave Cullen problems against him because he was not able to handle it, and the body shots that he landed.

Sadjo knocked Cullen down in the sixth round with a left to the body, and fight was promptly waved off. The 6’3″ Cullen is around the same height as the 6’4″ Pacheco, so it should be interesting to see how Sadjo does against him.

That fight took place three years ago, and Sadjo is not quite as young as he was back then. In Sadjo’s recent fights, he’s shown that he likes to maul and throw short body shots.

He’ll likely try and use the same tactics against Pacheco to deal with his height, and not let him dominate on the outside or get get leverage on his shots. It would be a messy fight. The 5’8″ Sadjo comes forward with his head down, banging into the face of his taller opponents.

It’s important that the 6’4″Pacheco win this fight, as he’s ranked #1 WBO and in a position to challenge for a world title against champion Canelo Alvarez. That doesn’t mean Pacheco will ever get a shot against Canelo, but there’s still a chance of the Mexican superstar decides he’d like to face him at some point.

In Pacheco’s recent fights, hie’d beaten McCalman, Marcelo Coceres, Manuel Gallegos and Jack Cullen.
