Daniel Dubois says there’s room for improvement in a rematch with Anthony Joshua if AJ chooses to fight him again. Dubois wants to be “more clinical” next time he faces Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs), and he thinks he can.

It’s difficult to imagine Dubois improving on his performance against AJ last Saturday night because it was near-perfect. It could be disastrous if Dubois tinkers with his relentless, bombs-away style to include more boxing in his game.
Joshua hasn’t uttered a peep about taking the rematch, and he may choose to avoid Dubois and focus on going after the money fights. He can collect a massive purse fighting Tyson Fury next, and that’s what his promoter, Eddie Hearn, is interested in.
Last Saturday night, Dubois (22-2, 21 KOs) knocked out Joshua in the fifth round in a successful defense of his IBF heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium in London. Joshua had talked about wanting to become a three-time champion, and he seemed overconfident about doing that.
“Yeah, if that happens, I’ll go for it. I’ll do even better next time. I know what I need to improve on. I just want to prove people wrong all the time, and that’s what we’ve been doing. Next time, I believe I’ll be more clinical,” said Daniel Dubois to talkSport Boxing about his interest in a rematch with Anthony Joshua.
It would be better for Dubois to put Joshua out of his mind and focus on more realistic fights. He’s likely not going to get a chance to fight Joshua or the winner of the Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk 2 fight, either.
Dubois’s performance against AJ may scare off the top guys because their management will focus on more winnable fights that involve bigger paydays. The realistic options for Dubois are these fighters:
– Joseph Parker
– Zhilei Zhang
– Dillian Whyte
– Martin Bakole
“Either one. Whoever pays me the most,” said Dubois when asked if he would prefer a rematch with Joshua over fighting the Fury-Usyk rematch winner.
