HERLEV, Denmark – The annual Herlev Fight Night went ahead tonight in front of a full house. Last year, they had three pro fights, this year it was four pro, promoted by Rng*Sde Promotions, but as with last year it was the amateur/Olympic matchups that stole the show.
Elias Idrissi (pictured), now 6-0, a lightweight, a local man and a good prospect, headlined the pro edition of the event and outscored German/South African David Rajuili (13-14-1) over six. Idrissi did a number on his opponent but could never hurt him. It was scored 60-54 on all cards.
Lightweight Ahmad Chauki El Ahmad (5-0) outscored Spanish/Kenyan Ronald Olkwera (3-3-1) over six. The judges had it 60-54 twice and 59-55 for the Dane – which looked a bit harsh on the visitor. It was a close fight where neither man could hurt the other. Ahmad was cut by the right eye but it never caused any problems.
Heavyweight Gustav Thorsen (4-0) won over Dutch/Italian Giovanni Auriemma (2-5-1) in a messy six-rounder. It was scored 60-54 on all cards for the Dane but many rounds were pretty even with neither man able to score effectively.
Light heavy Amre Allman (2-1) opened the pro part of the show with a unanimous points win over Czech Tomas Podas (3-8). It was scored 40-36 twice and 40-35.
